Back during the 1980's I outfitted a green Ford E100 long body van as a self-contained living quarters and traveling art studio.  I would save up some money and take off on another adventure to discover america, see the sights, go to museums, gardens, anything of interest.  Plus I took photos and did sketches and oil paintings as I traveled.  All together I must have traveled more than 100,000 miles and spent more than two years at various times living in the van.  I had three basic rules: avoid the interstate highways, no fast food restaurants (donut shops were ok),  and never pay to stay anywhere overnight.  Now I would like to get a Sprinter van and convert it to burn both diesel and french fry oil and go see what I missed and how things have changed.
Somewhere in Montana the day my rear wheel fell off going down the highway at 40 miles per hour.
